2. Electrical Engineer – Design Hydro Power
Role purpose
This has created a pool of expertise which has created opening for additional electrical engineers. The principle function of this position is to work within a multidiscipline design team producing electrical designs for hydroelectric power (HEP) schemes.
The principal function of this positionmay be to taking a design from concept stage through to scheme design for procurement and perform site investigations. Work will involve liaising with the other members of the design team; approval to vendor design and drawings, coordination with contractors. It involves planning and design of electric circuitry, switchgear, transformers, transmission lines, instrumentation control and automation (ICA)
Essence of role – key accountabilities
Your priorities in this role will include:
- preparation of conceptual DPR (Detail Project report) stage design
- taking a design from concept stage through to scheme design for procurement
- preparation and submission of contract documents, technical specifications, design notes, reports and drawings for electro mechanical works
- detailed design for electrical circuitry, switchgear, transformers, transmission lines, instrumentation control and automation for HEP schemes

The ideal candidate should possess an Electrical engineering degree and preferably a post graduation in electrical engineering or in instrumentation/control systems or equivalent; and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
